In this article, Barrett J. Brunsman draws attention to the devastation wrought by the Emerald Ash Borer in Anderson Twp., just East of Cincinnati.   He took Tim Back, ISA Certified Arborist, with him to assist with identifying the problem.

Frankly, the pictures are pretty shocking, telling a story of the destruction that the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) brings when unchecked.

It can take five years for the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) to kill a tree.  It does so by larvae under the bark eating away until it has girdled the tree.  Because the tree top and  branch extremities are attacked first, by the time the bug is detected at eye level, it has descended down the trunk and the tree is pretty much done.

That is why it is necessary to get a Certified Arborist up in the tree to look for the signs before it is too late.

The good news is that there is a cure for trees that are not too far gone, and protection for those trees not yet infected.  Back Tree Service has invested a lot of time to find the right formulation, injection system and methodology to save ash trees.  In fact, Back Tree Service offers a 100% money back guarantee on its ash tree treatments.

There are two basic steps to this treatment system.  The first is tree injection of the TREE-age formulation into the ash tree with the  ArborJet system.  The second step is fertilizing and soil remediation.

Soil remediation is done by using a special Pneumatic Vertical Mulching tool that aerates the soil.  Then an liquid fertilizer is added reaches the roots.  The combination increases tree health.  A critical step in protecting trees against infestations such as the Emerald Ash Borer.
